Bendungan Sidan dirancang untuk menjadi salah satu solusi utama dalam memenuhi kebutuhan air baku di wilayah Sarbagita. Adapun wilayah tersebut meliputi Kota Denpasar, Kabupaten Badung, Gianyar, dan Tabanan.
Berlokasi di Kabupaten Badung, Gianyar, dan Bangli, Bali, bendungan ini memiliki kapasitas suplai air baku mencapai 1.750 liter per detik. Diproyeksikan bandungan ini mampu melayani kebutuhan 1,3 juta jiwa penduduk Bali sekaligus menjawab tantangan ketahanan air di kawasan tersebut.
